Surf Etiquette

Ride with grace

Surfing is as much about community as it is about waves — and this video walks you through 9 essential etiquette rules to keep the lineup kind, safe, and fun. You’ll learn how to pick the right spot, when and how to drop in (and when not to), why snaking is a no-go, how to paddle out smartly, taking turns, communicating in the water, respecting locals, holding on to your board, and saying “I’m sorry” when things go sideways.

When we surf with integrity, we reflect values beyond technique — humility, respect, kindness. In warm waters or rough, may our conduct echo the One who calls us to love our neighbors, even in the lineup.

Big thanks to Barefoot Surf for capturing these guidelines and helping us ride waves with both skill and heart.
